You can use this form if SA Water has notified you to submit a meter reading.

This might be because you received:

  • A card in your letterbox telling you we couldn’t read your meter

  • A bill with an estimated reading

  • An email or letter about higher than usual water use

  • An email or letter letting you know we haven’t been able to read your meter for some time.

You may have also asked to submit your own readings using the Priority Services Register.

Before you start, please make sure you have:

  • Your SA Water account number

  • The meter serial number

  • A clear photo of your water meter showing meter serial number and the reading

Why we ask for a photo:

We need a photo or in person read once a year in line with the Water Retail Code. A clear photo also helps avoid estimated bills.

Meter reading details

The number on the top of your water meter. We use this to match the meter to the property address.

Meter reading

Enter only the black numbers on the meter (kilolitres). Do not include any red numbers (litres) or decimal places. For example, if your meter shows 00126 (black numbers) and 487 (red numbers), enter 00126.
